 Well, my career has many ways to help the world to be a better place, but I think the most important and the one I want to base my future career on is the fight against global warming, since chemistry is fundamental to stop the damage done to the planet with the emission of toxic gases into the atmosphere. When I leave college I want to focus on developing substances that reduce the emission of CO2, to reduce the time it takes for plastics to degrade, this way we can clean the oceans and slow down the sad future that awaits us if we continue on this path to leave my children something more than problems and a world in ruins where they will have to fight for food or even water and all because of human carelessness. I don't want the people who come after us to have a worse time than we have now, I want them to be able to live in peace and enjoy this world, its landscapes, its fauna, among other things. That is why I feel that the best way to make a better world or a better future is...

 My favorite food is undoubtedly lasagna, a preparation that is neither easy nor difficult and with many versions. Since I was very small I am a fan of this food and I think it is because it is something that is not eaten every day or week is a preparation that is eaten a few times a year and their combinations of flavors and ingredients are always surprising is very varied and for all tastes, for those who eat meat, those who do not, those who like red or white sauce, vegetables, among other things.  For me it is a pleasure to prepare lasagna or to be told that we will eat lasagna are unique days and seem more colorful or cheerful just for a different food or that's how it makes me feel, a good lunch with family enjoying a good meal to wash the dishes is fun on a day of lasagna. 

 It is difficult to choose a favorite piece of technology, especially in these times where everything is technology and facilitates so many things like the car that allows us to travel long distances comfortably and safely or televisions that give us so many hours of entertainment a day but I think that without a doubt for me the best technology is the cell phone.  The cell phone unites many things necessary in our daily lives in a single device: communication, entertainment, location, study, photography, among other things. Today there are very few things that a cell phone can not be and for that reason it has become part of the daily use of particamemte everyone (including me) and that is why for me it is my favorite technology and the most useful I have and that's why I always try to have a good cell phone even if I have to pay a high price.

  When I was a child I was very interested in the area of ​​psychology and I thought about studying something related to that, but when I got to high school and learned more about science I became very interested in the area of ​​health and the laboratory and spent most of my High school focused on studying something related to health, specifically medicine, but when I chose my electives, that's when I ended up being convinced by chemistry. I have never liked office jobs and I hope I don't end up in one when I finish my degree, I am more of a person who likes the outdoors, field work or experimentation. College got off to a rocky start for me due to the pandemic, but now that we're back on campus, I'm looking forward to having the college experience I hoped for when I entered college. 

  My name is Alan Almanzar, I was born on January 30, 2002 and I am 20 years old. I was born in the commune of Talagante but I have lived all my life in El Monte. I have a very large family, in total we are 6 siblings, 3 men and 3 women, currently we live only 5 together since my older sister lives with her partner but we are always in contact.   I studied my secondary education in the Liceo Bicentenario of Talagante and it was in that school where I met one of my passions, volleyball since my second year that I play non-stop sport winning several competitions at the communal and regional level, but what I consider my true passion and future vocation is chemistry.
